To perform precision hardware LPC / eSPI bitstream injection, assemble the recommended ESP32-S3 glitching rig and connect to the target motherboard following the wiring schematic below.

MOSFET & Motherboard Glitching Schematic
GPIO 7 ➔ MOSFET GATE
Connect GPIO Pin 7 of the ESP32-S3 development board to the GATE (Pin 1) of the N-Channel MOSFET/JFET (2N7002). This line controls glitch timing.
Device GND ➔ JFET Source ➔ MB GND
Connect Device GND (ESP32-S3 GND), the SOURCE (Pin 2) of the JFET/MOSFET, and Motherboard GND together so all three share a common reference plane.
DRAIN ➔ LPC0 / ESPI0
Connect the DRAIN (Pin 3 / Output) point of the MOSFET to the LPC0 or ESPI0 test point or pad on the Lenovo motherboard.
*) Remove VR_CAP Capacitor
Carefully remove / desolder the VR_CAP capacitor on the motherboard. Removing this capacitor eliminates parasitic RC filtering, allowing clean bitstream injection.

Before initiating the LPC / eSPI unlock bitstream from IAS VIP Tools, you must remove the VR_CAP capacitor located on the motherboard. Leaving VR_CAP populated will ground-filter the fast rise-time pulse from the 2N7002 MOSFET, causing injection packets to drop. Once removed, bitstream glitching achieves 100% success rate.
